Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church will be holding a “Golden Opportunities Bazaar” or rummage sale on Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th. It will take place in the Activities Room and we plan to have simple food available for purchase. We have had a lot of items that have been donated to the church over the years that we do not use and have been “saving”. In the spirit of stewardship, we are going to “clear the cupboards” and make those items available for sale to the general public. This will have the effect of increasing the useful lifetime of those items and provide an affordable alternative to those that may need them. At the same time, we will free up space in the building making it easier to renovate and make use of the additional space.
We encourage you to support this effort by going through the same process at your home. Donate unused, but still functional items to the church and we will place them up for sale during the flea market. This is a fundraiser for the church. All of the proceeds will be used by the church to support ongoing projects. Our goal is to raise $5000.
We hope to have a lot of people rally around to support this project. It will be good for us individually and it will be good for the church.
Drop-off dates and times for donated items are as follows:
- Monday, August 15 through Wednesday, August 24th. Note: No drop-offs please on Sunday, August 21st as no one will be there to handle them
- Drop off times on these dates will be from 3:00pm-7:00pm week days and 11:00am-4:00pm on Saturday, August 20.
- Donors: Please come to the Wallace church office first and see one of the volunteers there before leaving your donated items
Do not bring any items to the church prior to that. If you would need help getting any items to the church, call the office. We will try to find a volunteer that will be able to help. We don’t expect staff abandon their work in order to support this project.
The times for the Bazaar will be:
4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 26
8:00 AM -3:00 PM on Saturday, August 27

All items donated to the flea market must be clean and fully functional. Gently used items are desired. We will not be having vendors at this event. The following is a list of items that will be accepted and a list of items that we will not accept:

- Pillows/Mattresses
- TVs, VHS Players/Recorders, Monitors
- Large Furniture (Although we have a mission called “Off the Floor” that will accept it.)
- No stationary power tools
- Infant/Child Car Seats
- Air conditioners or freon containing devices
- Tires
- Rugs
