Ian Cummins is a nurse, (RN, BSN) with UPMC Mercy’s Psychiatric Emergency Room. He is most known for his walk across the United States in wake of his brother’s suicide to raise money and awareness for mental illness.
In this compelling session, Ian will explore an overview of mental illnesses — from neurosis to personality disorders to psychosis — and explain how these disorders impact not only the sufferer, but those around them. We will discuss coping methods and support available to the friends and family members. The warning signs of suicide will also be covered.
