Lent 2022

Lent Activities

Walking Through the Shadows, the Theme of Lent.  The Unity in the Community Committee is planning several interactive activities this year.  This will include a cloud display on burlap in the transept.  Information about this activity is available at the entrance doors.

Please add to our exhibition of crosses!  Unity Presbyterian Church will once again create a cross display during Holy Week. We invite you to share a cross that has special meaning or is of unique interest to you. We will display the crosses along with a description/caption during Holy Week services (Palm Sunday, April 10, Maundy Thursday, April 14, Good Friday and Easter, April 17). You may drop off your cross at any time in the office, where it will be kept in a secure location. Due date for cross collection is Saturday, April 9th. All crosses can be retrieved after the Easter Sunday service or during the next week in the church office.

We are currently receiving the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) during the Season of Lent.  There is a brochure inside the Life is Messy Book, along with an offering envelope.  There are offering envelopes in the pews also.

Please pick up your copy of the book, Life is Messy, from the table in the transept.  Look for your name on the book and please read the materials enclosed inside the cover.  We are also asking you to deliver a book and materials to a friend or neighbor.

This Spring’s wellness classes and workshops will focus on the Lenten theme of “Walking Through the Shadows.”  Life is often just as cruel as it is beautiful. It’s never consistent. The road we travel will be full of peaks and valleys. However, through life challenges, which can range from mild to harrowing, God is always consistent. We never have to walk alone, and healing can be found through the support of others.
