East End Cooperative Mission Shelter
Overview
On the third Sunday of each month, a team of volunteers goes to the East End Cooperative Mission Shelter to prepare and serve a meal for approximately 40 men and women who are residents at the shelter.
Goals
The goal of the mission is to provide a satisfying meal served in a dignified manner.
How to Get Involved
Volunteers are asked to buy the food we prepare, generally at a bulk store such as Sam’s Club or Costco. If a volunteers doesn’t have a membership to a bulk store, he/she can coordinate with a Wallace member who does. Meals are prepped at a volunteer’s house or in the Wallace kitchen. Volunteers meet and depart from Wallace at 5:30 p.m. and serve the meal at the shelter at 7 p.m.
