Reflection Garden

Welcome to Unity Presbyterian Church’s

Reflection Garden

Please enter with Respect

Our hope is that all who visit this sacred reflection garden whether they be family, friends, or the community at large find a place of beauty and tranquility where they can peacefully reflect, meditate, rejoice, and enjoy God’s peace.

The handicapped accessible Reflection Garden is the setting for our Columbariums featuring stone benches on which to pause, meditate, and pray and a memorial water feature for soothing moments. It is enhanced by Biblical plants as well as plants native to Pennsylvania.

The Courtyard area was created in the Spring of 1963 with the completion of the existing Christian Education Building. It is easily accessed by the church’s front or back entrances via the lounge or either of the two covered walkway areas.

The three bronze plaques located beneath the stained glass window are part of a memorial gift given by Martha Lou Schove in dedication to the memory of her daughter, Caroline Catherine Schove. The harp was one of Carolin’es passions while the dogwood branches represent the Christian legend that dogwood blossoms bear the scars of Jesus’ cruscifixion.

“Be still and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46

We would like to gratefully acknowledge and thank the church council, students and instructors of Manchester Bidwell Corporation and Bidwell Training Center for their guidance and assistance in transforming the existing courtyard into this tranquil Reflection Garden.

Unity has established a perpetual Care Fund that will help with the maintenance of the Reflection Garden and would welcome any donations that might be given to the Glory of God for this purpose. Please contact our church office if this might be of interest to you
